Little Things That Mean a Lot The little, seemingly insignificant acts of generosity, kindness, and care, are hardly noticed, but they catch the attention of the heavenly Father. GENEROSITY And He [Jesus] saw a poor widow putting in two small copper coins. And He said, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all of them; for they all out of their surplus put into the offering; but she out of her poverty put in all that she had to live on." Luke 21:2-4 KIND DEEDS Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which translated in Greek is called Dorcas); this woman was abounding with deeds of kindness and charity which she continually did. Acts 9:36 HELP IN THE TIME OF NEED When it was day, the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves under an oath, saying that they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed Paul . . . But the son of Paul's sister heard of their ambush, and he came and entered the barracks and told Paul. Acts 23:12,16 Don't look for something great to do (which may never come about). Do the little things that mean a lot to your Father in heaven. Be generous with your time and possessions. Be kind to all. Help those in need. Remember the words of the hymn: "Brighten the Corner Where You Are" Do not wait until some deed of greatness you may do, Do not wait to shed your light afar, To the many duties ever near you now be true, Brighten the corner where you are.
