‘What if?’
Those two words can be a motivating force or a strong deterrent. It's strange that
we have a tendency to "what-if" in a negative way, focusing on what may be
encountered that will prevent us from succeeding. Why not "what if" in a positive
way, visualizing our overcoming any obstacle and succeeding?
NEGATIVE (DEFEATING)
What if I'm not able to live as a Christian?
What if I’m unable to resist temptations?
What if I fail?
* * * * *
POSITIVE (ENABLING)
What if I am able to live as a Christian?
The Lord will help.
Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may
receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
What if I am able to endure temptations?
A way of escape will be provided.
No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is
faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able,
but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that
you will be able to endure it.
1 Corinthians 10:13
What if I succeed?
A crown of life will be received.
Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will
receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
James 1:12
“What If” positively!
