Grace and Knowledge
"... grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
2 Peter 3:18
To grow in grace (favor) of Jesus one must be diligent to show his love for Him by
keeping His commandments. This is done by daily living as a true disciple; not being
conformed to the world, but being transformed by the renewing of the mind.
To grow in knowledge of Jesus one must be diligent to learn all about Him and His
teachings. This is done by immersing oneself in a life-long quest to know Him: the
prophecies about Him in the Old Testament, His life as recorded in the Gospels, His
salvation as recorded in the book of Acts, His church as recorded in the Epistles.
SUCCINCTLY PUT
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to
deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in
the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our
great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from
every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession,
zealous for good deeds.
Titus 2:11-14
