Thursday's Thought A Weekly Inspirational Message "Something to help you through the remainder of the week." |
Thursday, December 7, 2006 You First! We all have said those words at one time. We were willing, but wanted the other person to go first. Our activity was contingent on the other person's actions. What's interesting about this concept is that God has acted first. God initiated the plan of salvation out of love without any request from mankind. He sent His Son who died to save everyone without any guarantee that men would believe in Him. The Holy Spirit was sent to fill men with the message of salvation without any assurance that it would be well received. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 Me Too! I will love Him in return. We love, because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19 I will lovingly obey His commandments. "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments." John 14:15 I will love others as He loved me. "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you." John 15:12 A blessing, not a burden. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3 |
