Thursday, Month 00, 2006 UNCONDITIONAL LOVE Unconditional Love and Unconditional Acceptance Are Two Separate Actions PSYCHOBABBLE The practical extension of the theories of unconditional love is a permissive attitude and a morally nonrestrictive atmosphere. The terminology of unconditional love can be traced to those involved in humanistic psychology and counseling. Humanists believe that a human being will find answers to his own dilemmas and naturally blossom into his best self in an atmosphere of unconditional love and acceptance, by which they mean a permissive, unstructured atmosphere. (Adapted from an anonymous source.) GOD'S UNCONDITIONAL LOVE For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 ~~~~~~~ But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 ~~~~~~~ The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 GOD'S CONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE Eternal Life with the Lord Is Conditional And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15 ~~~~~~~ Forgiveness Is Conditional "But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. Matthew 6:15 ~~~~~~~ Acceptance Is Conditional "I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish." Luke 13:3 "Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate," says the Lord. "And do not touch what is unclean; And I will welcome you." 2 Corinthians 6:17
