Thursday's Thought A Weekly Inspirational Message "Something to help you through the remainder of the week." |
Thursday, March 30, 2006 The Other Person or Me? Standing at the door of the church after delivering a lesson on personal responsibility, one member had this to say to me, "I wish ol' brother so-and-so was here, he needed that!" Such words illustrate the fact that one should not to look at other’s faults, but should take the message to heart and apply it to himself or herself. "Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?" Matthew 7:3 ~~~~~~~ It's easier --to see another's faults than your own. --to offer advice than receive it. --to criticize than to receive criticism. As long as you don't look at yourself, you will never see your shortcomings. Once you "own them," the way to change, correction, and self-improvement is open to you. ~~~~~ It's All About ‘Me’ The only person I have full control over is me! The only person who can change my actions is me! The only person responsible for my actions is me! This is true for you and for the other person. |
