Thursday's Thought A Weekly Inspirational Message "Something to help you through the remainder of the week." |
Thursday, Month 00, 2006 An Ounce of Prevention Guarding One's Lips It's better to swallow your careless words before you say them than to have to eat them after they have been spoken. Speak in haste and you will make a speech you will come to regret. There is no graceful way to remove your foot from your mouth. ~~~~~~~ Wisdom from the Book of Proverbs When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, but he who restrains his lips is wise. 10:19 A prudent man conceals knowledge, but the heart of fools proclaims folly. 12:23 The one who guards his mouth preserves his life; the one who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. 13:3 He who restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding. Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is counted prudent. 17:27-28 |
