TWO RELATED ACTIONS


REPENTANCE

Remorse –moral anguish

Regret – sorrow (godly)

Reform – make necessary corrections

Restore – make restitution when possible


If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.

FORGIVENESS

Forgive– Absolve the offender

Forget – Disregard the offense

Forgo – Dispatch any thoughts of revenge

Forbear – Be patient and longsuffering.


Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

Ephesians 4:32


For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
