FREE GIFT* I'm sure you have seen these words in an advertisement. 'Free' has a way of grabbing our attention. At first glance it appears to be offering something free. However, when checking what the asterisk references you find that "conditions and restrictions apply." It is free, if you are willing to meet the conditions and live with the restrictions. Ignoring the conditions/restrictions causes one to have false expectations. Caveat emptor (buyer beware) is sound advice. FREE GIFT OF GOD* For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 *Conditions and restrictions apply. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." John 3:36 Believe in Jesus as the Son of God and obey His commands are the conditions that need to be met. And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned." Mark 16:15-16 Ignoring the conditions and restrictions causes one to have false hope.
