Compassion

Deep awareness of the suffering of another

coupled with the wish to relieve it.

LESSON FOR US

A lack of compassion (see definition)

hampers kindness

impedes humility

stymies gentleness

hinders patience (longsuffering)

makes forgiving difficult

We need to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, longsuffering, forgiveness.

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.
