What Would People Say?

Not too many people know that there are several additional verses to national anthem of the United States of America. Most can sing verse one from memory. But I wonder what would be the reaction if, instead of someone singing verse one at a national event, the last verse was sung? Don't know what it is? Here it is!

The Star Spangled Banner

(Last Verse)

Oh, thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand

Between their loved home and the war's desolation!

Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land

Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!

Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,

And this be our motto: "In God is our trust":

And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

That they should put their confidence in God and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.

Psalms 78:7
