Test of Faith

Inner struggles that tested faith:

Abraham was told to offer his son as a sacrifice

contrary to reason.

Israelites were told to enter and possess the promise land

against terrific odds.

Jonah was told to go warn Nineveh

in opposition to his will.

Inner Struggles

Test our faith

to trust in God who can do all things

Test our resolve

to step out on the promises of God

Test our will

to yield to His will and His way

Personal struggles within:

Sickness, tragedy, fears, doubt

Personal struggles without:

Ostracize, opposition, persecution, forbidden pleasures

In each situation our faith will be tested and become stronger or weaker. We will emerge better or bitter. It's a test we must pass.

Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ

is in you--unless indeed you fail the test?
