DO NOT BE DECEIVED

Deceive: To cause to believe what is not true; mislead.

There are numerous ways a disciple can be deceived. All of them are devious and harmful. One way a disciple can be deceived is by the his own rationalizing.

THREE FATAL RATIONALIZATIONS

One may rationalize that he will not be adversely affected by ungodly friends and associations.

"Do not be deceived: ‘Bad company corrupts good morals.'"

1 Corinthians 15:33

One may rationalize that in his judgment what he does now

will not have any long term repercussions.

"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever

a man sows, this he will also reap."

Galatians 6:7

One may rationalize that he is not accountable for yielding to sin because he just couldn't help himself.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body,

according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

2 Corinthians 5:10

 WARNING

"But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity

of devotion to Christ.

2 Corinthians 11:3
